...Driftwood Beach,
also known as Roots Beach
by the locals,
is on Jekyll Island, Georgia.
At low tides,
you can see the trees
and large pieces of driftwood
that have been dragged
into the surf
during storms and heavy surf.
Some of the trees
are still standing as they grew,
others like this big oak tree,
are laying down
in the wet sand.
Captured at sunrise
just before the sun
crested the horizon,
her rays glowing
against the low clouds .
Barnacles cling
to the stump of the tree
amid the moss
that decorates it's trunk...
