It doesn't seem very welcoming at 5 am, but as the 5:39 departure of the Trinity Railway Express train from Fort Worth to Dallas nears, the crowds pick up. Who would want to drive when you can enjoy the ride to Dallas on the train! Fort Worth and Dallas did not have any modern passenger transportation until 2001 when this service began. The T&P station is the western terminus of the Trinity Railway Express and serves the south side of downtown Fort Worth. Best of all, parking is free! This station is at the lower floor of the historic Texas and Pacific Station, built in 1931 and designed in the Zigzag Moderne Art Deco style. For a look at this style, see my photo entitled ZigZag.
