This is a small relief which I created in clay and is available as a limited edition lost wax bronze casting. It is available in three formats: Unmounted, Mounted, or Mounted and Framed. ELK AND BOBCAT IN WINTER: The sculpture is based on an earlier scratchboard drawing I made of a scene I saw out the window of my family's log cabin in Wyoming's Snowy Range foothills. Among the snowdrifts, rugged boulders and wind-twisted junipers, a herd of elk rested and carried on their age-old mating rituals. From one of the snow gullies appeared a smaller animal that caught the attention of the elk closest to it. I thought it might be a coyote, but on second glance, I saw it was a bobcat! I never forgot this rare moment of beauty, harmony and peace.

I have been an artist since I was knee high to a short-horned locust. My dad, Willoughby Senior (FAA) was a professional artist and writer and I have stepped in his shoes since I was born, though he drew horses better than I did when I was a kid. My family lived in a hand-hewn log cabin we built ourselves in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and had no water or electricity. I love my life with my husband and family in Wyoming among the horses, gophers, deer, antelope, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and the wild landscape. My work is driven by the land, animals, wild plants and birds I have come to know so well. Hummingbirds still try to get nectar from my upturned fingers.
