About the Artist
Janel Bragg
While studying art in college I found that abstraction comes naturally to me when painting and drawing. I like to take away and not add. I try to simplify my subject matter so much that just the heart of it remains. Experimenting with different mediums, especially oils, pastels, charcoal and india ink, allows one medium to relieve the other, preventing boredom and allowing me to express myself in different ways. I have benefited from wonderful art teachers throughout my life and also have learned a lot from the writings of famous artists. Robert Henri, Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh are my favorite artists with writings to learn from.
