My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Thank you Mary Flore

Beautiful picture. Grew up on northshore so wanted something from there. Metal picture really shows the colors and picture quality is very clear.

This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

Artist's Description
Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio was nicknamed Millionaires Row at the turn of the last century. Very few of the old mansions remain. I was able to capture this image shortly before the wrecking ball completed what nature and neglect had begun.
About MB Matthews
I hated high school. If anyone would have told me at the age of 16 I would be spending the rest of my life in high school, my black and white saddle shoes would have flown down the polished hallways of Notre Dame Academy through the chapel doors, where I would have dropped to my knees fervently praying for an abbreviated lifespan. Upon graduation, I couldn't bear the thought of any more schooling, so I hustled tips as a waitress until I could no longer bear taking the flack for incompetent cooking. The gift of good eye/hand coordination provided me with a decent portfolio when I was at the Academy, and it earned me a full ride to art school. I majored in painting, but mom was concerned I would never find a job when I graduated, and...

Having grown up in Cleveland I remember this area very well. Millionaires row started to move from Cleveland to Cleveland Heights in the late 1950's.

what a sad violent timeline; racism, drugs and finally demolition. Still stands as a strong photo!

What we do and look for in this group can be so very sad sometimes. At least these wonderful old houses, etc., are getting some recognition before they're gone forever. I love the color in the trees and chimney. Heck of a first photo here in Abandoned and Forlorn. Thanks MB. f/v

This old mansion was built about 100 years ago, when the city of East Cleveland was home to the wealthiest people in the world. John D. Rockefeller (the world's first billionaire) lived just a short distance away. The neighborhood first became victim to racism and white-flight in the '60's, then the drug culture completed the decimation. I was able to get this image shortly before the house was demolished.
