Our two rescued dogs would be so lost without their dog bones! I painted this in memory of "Phyffle" and "Ipso Facto" and our two daily companions, "Bear" and "Scamps" -- the best companions a person can have! Besides hours of fun watching them play, we love their snuggliness in the evening and their love of road trips; even if it's just around the block!

I first drew with pen and ink, filled in the spaces with zentangle-like patterns. As you can see from this and my "Owl Take Care Of. You" piece, I like symmetrical tangles. So both long ears are the same tangle and the black part of the head and feet are the same. The fence is made from my version of a pattern I've been drawing for over 25 years, so I don't really consider it a tangle, although some people may.

Inktense pencils were used to color this piece. My method is similar to watercolor, where the brush (an aqua brush) touches the pencil first, then color is applied with the brush -- not directly with the pe...
