Artist's Description
Figures At Work: There are some really neat people in the Sales Comp team. SPECIAL THANKS to JOE G for letting me "borrow" this collection to photograph it!!! I ended up NOT moving anything. Notice how the genii has a baseball bat. Love the candid nature of it. My goal - keep the candid nature by NOT moving the composition - make little scenes without moving anything. Taken with Canon Powershot S3 IS. Used a portable light for spotlight on some of the shots. Editing in iPhoto.
About Sandy Tolman
Welcome. : I enjoy taking photographs of ordinary and not so ordinary elements of the natural and manufactured world around us. Upon occasion I'll scribble or mess around with watercolors, ink and mixed media. When I get access to photoshop, I like to explore the endless possibilities of digital manipulation - as opposed to series such as mundane world where images have little (such as cropping or minor color balance) or no modification. Fascinated by fantasy, nature, imagination, abstraction / non-objective composition. Looking to use this area as a forum for online portfolio and interaction with artistic community. Thank you for visiting, Sandy Tolman PHOTOGRAPHY - Mundane World - items from the ordinary and not so...

Some are just documenting his compositions arranged as is. A few special ones actually went past that and made little scenes / stories / portraits. A very few ended up as "art" the way I was hoping. Was fun exercise to do it all with only lighting, focus and camera angle - not being able to move the figures! (had permission to, but decided not to, wanted to keep it candid) *lol*

Thanks! Some turned out better than others! I think some of the space girl, gunslinger, venom and boy and bear turned out best! The fixit guy/mechanic almost looks real somehow *lol* .. . .People at work have interesting stuff on their desks! All I knew about him was that he has a nice wife and kid and is really into sports . . then one day these showed up!
