Great canvas and framing. A decent shipping time, and EXCEPTIONAL safe packaging. Just an appropriate image for my viewing/listening room. Just took the speaker grills off for this photo.

I purchased this picture for my new home in Las Vegas and it fits perfectly. Love the view of Frenchman Mountain from a different angle. Highly recommended.

Artist's Description
John Wayne gave his first great film performance in Howard Hawks' "Red River," shot in Elgin, Arizona a short distance from the US/Mexico border. Lensed in 1946 it wasn't released until 1948.
24 years later the Hawks/Wayne teaming ended with the pallid "Rio Lobo," the third production in their trilogy of "Rio Bravo," "Eldorado" and "Lobo."

A friend who witnessed it told me that Duke had to use a small ladder to mount and dismount his horse.
Moments after taking this photo of Duke, I was asked to leave the set, perhaps fearing I would pho...
About David Lee Guss
I first became obsessed with photography and motion pictures while growing up in post WW2 Manila in the Philippine Islands in the late 1940's/early 1950's. Film noirs were a particular influence. But my first love remains the theater. I acted in numerous amateur productions from 1958 to 1978. In 1979 I earned a MA in drama from the University of Arizona; earlier getting a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, where I co-founded the first film society on campus and ran it for four years. While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
