Beautiful print! The only thing I don’t love is the imprint from the wood at the back of the canvas. Maybe different packaging would help?
Artist's Description
"Chinatown" is worthy of the finest film noirs made during the golden period. The late John Alonzo (1934-2001) shot both this and another neo-noir "Farewell, My Lovely," starring Robert Mitchum.
I was in the audience when Alonzo spoke at the University of Arizona and screened "Chinatown." He spoke of the tension between Jack Nicholson and Polanski on the set, even though they were close friends in real life.
The trailer is narrated in the true film noir tradition. The closing line (and the best in the film), written by Oscar winner Robert Towne, is given to a minor character.

While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
