About Jean-Marie Bottequin
BOTTEQUINISMS is an online gallery featuring the comprehensive œuvre of internationally acclaimed photographer, photo journalist, and photo artist, Jean-Marie Bottequin. Born April 29, 1941, in Ghent, Flanders, Belgium, Bottequin’s artistic work spans over five decades. Never having enjoyed a formal education in the art of “old school” photography, he is entirely self-taught. Following his high school graduation (baccalauréat), in 1957, Bottequin enrolled at the École des Hautes Etudes to study classical theater. In 1959, he was accepted to read Romance languages, education, and art at the University of Ghent. In 1960, he joined Ghent’s Normalschool voor plastische Kunsten to study painting and art under the tutelage of Octave...
