Unfortunately, since this photograph was taken Frisco Pier exists no more. Or rather, remnants of it exist. A hurricane turned tropical storm swept over the Outer Banks and destroyed it. A large section near the end is missing, plus many of the support pilings. The owner sought funds from the federal government to help with repair and restoration, but as of this writing was unable to get help.
