I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
This life cast was casted in plaster, directly onto the human figure. It was then cast in bondo and resin, and finished in oil paints. I then sprayed glossy acrylic spray paint onto the form, and added a few marbles to incorporate bubbles floating up the figure.
About Catherine Maroney
Catherine Maroney graduated from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH in May 2014. She received her B.A. in Art, with a concentration in oil painting and sculpture, and also received a business minor. Born in 1991, she is a native of Mansfield, Massachusetts, and has been creating art since she can remember. Her most recent body of work, "Beauties of the Water," consists of paintings and sculptures that focus on the human body submerged in water. She was influenced by a number of artists, primarily Jason deCaires Taylor, Samantha French and Alyssa Monks. Catherine continues to create art daily, as she pursues her dream career as an artist.
