Artist's Description
Print of a detail (small portion) of an original painting that sold in 2010. Inspired by Botticelli's Primavera. La Primavera completed in 1482 has over 500 plants and flowers. I used the flowers as my inspiration for the flowers in this painting along with her pose and hair. Face and hair is also inspired by many of his other paintings including the birth of Venus. Botticelli painted the same woman over and over. It was his unrequited love, Simonetta. He was buried at her feet upon his request.
