About the Image

Flying to the Roost by Barb Kirpluk

It's late November and the crows are beginning to gather in roosts to sleep at night. They form large populations sometimes to the delight, and sometimes to the dismay of those who come in contact with the messy black birds. Their dark shapes against the muted colors of early winter in the midwest can be beautiful to some.

About the Artist - Barb Kirpluk

Barb Kirpluk

I am an artist creating works reflecting my interest in the natural world. I studied Fine Art at the college level, but am mostly self-taught. I believe in the continuing evolution of the human spirit, and that manifests in my pursuit of new ideas, and a constant honing of my skills. I will never be done. I work in both traditional media, and the digital paint of pixel and tablet. Each of these require similar, yet different skills. I morph in and out of those realms depending on my obsession of the moment.
