A pen drawing I did a long time ago in about the early 1990s when I was living in an old bedsit in a terrace house in Sydney NSW Australia.. The circumstances of this place and how I came to live in it is a long and complicated story, but at the time I was hugely grateful for this limited space, as it seemed more like a refuge than anything else and for the first time in a long time I experienced the real meaning of freedom for myself, having just escaped a long and very unhappy marriage.

One day when I was in the small kitchenette I looked out on this view and thought to myself how inspiring it was as a scene with all its old buildings, an old historic church in the distance and the trees growing in my neighbour's back yards. Since there was not enough room for a table or chair in this space, I perched myself up on a low kitchen cupboard, so that I could see this view, whilst sketching it on a sketch pad on my knee.I was so happy with the result of my artwork that I've kept...

As a creative person all my life I've been drawn to expressing myself through drawing, painting and poetry. Also as an eclectic in most areas of my life, my artworks also express that and fun in creating is what inspires me at any given time.
