Title: Future Hope II
Media: collage block of decorative hand-made paste paper, watercolor on Strathmore pastel paper

Text: Jeremiah 29: 11-13
Jeremiah's words, expressing God's desire for restoration of the relationship between himself and his people, have become instructive, comforting and inspiring to believers over the generations.
Jeremiah, one of the great prophets in Israel, spoke of Gods judgment as well as concern for the repentance and righteousness of Gods people. He prophesied through the difficult years Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Judah had fallen into a long captivity under the Babylonians. Jeremiah 29 is his letter to the first group of Babylonian captives.
My fascination with the power of ‘thoughts made visible’ and the mystery of the word as a vehicle of communication has led me on a wonderful journey as I merge message and technique with watercolor, brush and pen into a finished piece. Each piece brings exploration, inspiration and discovery — on a concrete level as I work with my tools and experience; on a spiritual level as a passionate heart treasures God. My response to life’s journey is to work with words, be inspired by great texts, express the abstract more tangibly and ... listen ... for God's still, small, gentle voice within the cacophony of the ups and downs, joys and sorrows experienced. In this relationship God comes transforming, with hope-full and wonderful surprises!
