2010 Ellis County Art Association Members Show. Painted in January 2009 from a photo I took while staying at a bed-and-breakfast next door to this structure on Post Office Street in Galveston. The photo was taken before hurricane Ike.
A native Texan, I grew up in Wichita Falls. A place known for tornados, extreme heat, Red Draws, Beanie Burgers, oil and, many years ago, football. After leaving "the Falls" I studied commercial art and advertising in Waco and now I reside in Waxahachie, slowly working my way to living in every Texas town that starts with a W.
I have worked as an Art Director for the last 30-something years in Flexographic printing, but my creative juices flow in the form of oils, watercolors, pastels, pen and inks and sketching. I prefer to paint 'en plein air' for the simple joy of being out in God's creation and interpreting what I see for myself and for those that enjoy my style of art.
Stop by if you see me out-and-about with my easel or sketch...
