This piece took me four weeks to complete. It was a commission for the Vanguard nightclub in Hollywood, CA. It is done in flourescent paint so it lights up under the blacklight in the club. The owner and manager of Vanguard are very cool and they also had me paint John Lennon, Frida Khalo, and Albert Einstein...each 7 feet by 6 feet. It's a painstaking process but meditative and feels wonderful to complete one of these giants. I had almost painted Gandhi years ago on my own so I was quite happy with this choice. Of course non-violent conflict resolution is much more powerful than the use of force. May we all recognize this and not be fooled by the "man" into believing otherwise. Thank you and enjoy!

Hello, I'm Max Eberle. I've been an artist since I was three and I've always been into detailed work. Even if a piece takes five months to finish, the final result is worth the wait. Because of this I choose my subject matter carefully and put lots of thought into the composition and choosing a good photograph If I'm doing a portrait. I've always liked to be inspired, and those who inspire me are worthy of painting on a large scale, so you can't miss them when you walk into the room. My friend the artist and gallery owner Nic Khoja got me into using flourescent paint back in 2000.
