I have always loved mythology. So here is my take on the story of Ganymede. Ganymede was abducted by Zeus from Mount Ida, near Troy in Phrygia. Ganymede had been tending sheep, a rustic or humble pursuit characteristic of a hero's boyhood before his privileged status is revealed. Zeus either sent an eagle or turned himself to an eagle to transport the youth to Mount Olympus.

San Francisco based figure artist, Rene Carol Capone (b. September 22, 1978) is an American painter known for his depiction of the figure with whimsical and mysterious imagery, often used together. He also works with stories and myths. The figures in his work appear to be on a deeply personal quest for identity and their place in the world. Capone was born in Niskayuna, New York. One of four children to Linda Capone and is of no relation to mobster Al Capone. He attended the Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, New York City. Upon completion in 2000, he moved to San Francisco where he currently resides.
