Artist's Description

Genetic modification, conceptual computer artwork. Tomatoes overlaid with DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid, double helix, upper right to bottom left corner), the molecule that carries genetic information. Genetic modification involves removing, copying or introducing genes to produce a desired inherited trait. Slow ripening and resistance to high salt levels are traits that have been produced in genetically modified (GM) tomatoes.
