The grizzly bear, also known as the silvertip bear, the grizzly, or the North American brown bear, is a subspecies of brown bear that generally lives in the uplands of western North America. I was visiting with friends who live in Alaska. They had won the Denali road lottery, which mean they could drive their vehicle into Denali State Park and experience the park as few people can. We were driving along when we saw cars pulled over (a sure sign that some animal is near to the road) When we got close we saw that a grizzly was near the road (about 150' away) A pretty safe distance as he was enjoy the blueberry crop he had found. I got out and was photographing with my long telephoto. I was shooting and I was adjusting my zoom in when all of a sudden I hit the inner stop... This reminded me of the old adage for fighter pilots. Get your cranium out of the cockpit and check your environment. I raised my head up above the camera and I focused on the grizz...
