It was ghostly still before sunrise at the "quiet pool" at the Fort Worth Water Gardens. We discovered that the fountains are not turned on until about 6:30 am. Once the fountains are turned on, there is a wall of water running down behind the trees shown in the photo, and indeed down all four walls of the sunken pool, which creates a cooling breeze that ripples the water. But before that the water was completely still. The Fort Worth Water Gardens are probably the most underrated attraction in Fort Worth. Maybe they just aren't 'active' enough and entertaining enough. There are no water slides, there are no cartoon characters, there are no snack stand or souvenir stands. They are only a beautiful place to sit and enjoy (although unfortunately abuse it by swimming in the pools).
