About the Artist

Anastasiya Verbik

Ana(stasiya) Verbik was born in Belarus and grew up being told that it is impossible to make a living as an artist. Nevertheless, at the age of 7 she got accepted to her countryís capitalís specialized art school and has not halted in her creativity since. When she immigrated to the United States 5 years later her teachers were astonished at her natural talent, particularly in the area of sculpture. She spent the four years of High School taking classes in Ceramics, coming in to the studio instead of lunch, and being sent by her teachers to attend various art programs outside the school: Saturday Career Workshops with Art Directors Club (May 2005); Portfolio Preparation Drawing Course at Cooper Union College (Jan 2006); Painting Course at...
