Days after I painted this simple still life of the nasturtiums from my Alaskan garden, we had our first frost. I was so glad I had taken the time from my hectic schedule to enjoy the last of our summer light painting outdoors--gleaning the last of the summer's joyous rays before the coming darkness of our long winters.
Israeli born, Talya Johnson is an impressionist artist working in Salem, Oregon. Tayla, this is one of themost successful paintings of glass I have seen. The glass looks like glass. The radiance glows as radiance. The blend of colors still say, "Glass!". Now for the flowers. Your flowers are brilliant. Even so, they don't overpower the glass or other areas in your painting. In my opinion this painting is among the most successful paintings of impressionism I've seen.
