"God caused the man Adam to fall into a deep sleep, and... took one of the man's ribs and... made a woman Eve from the rib," Genesis 2:21-22.
If you cannot easily read the script under the painting, it says "Eve: 'Ta-Da!' Adam: 'Nice. But why do my ribs hurt?'"
This is the last in my "New Beginnings" series. BTW, the fact that the apples, snake and Eve's hair are all the same color is not a coincidence.
It is framed in a black, glassed frame with white mat, overall dimentions of 13.5" x 16.5".
My name is Dana M Schmidt. I was a patent attorney for 35 years, mostly in upstate NY, then retired to take up art. Located now in Orlando, I paint under the mentorship of Robin Marie Pedrero. I got started by doing hand sketches as part of my law work, which taught me how to draw and led easily to doing pastels, which has been my art love for the last 15 years. Organized the For The Bird Market on 1000 Markets until 1KM was sold recently to Bonanza.com.
I have exhibited at the Maitland Art Festival, and by invitation at the Orlando Museum of Art and at the Faith Arts Village of Orlando, one of the hottest new venues in Orlando.
