The Sri Yantra is considered the mother of all mandalas, and depicts the origin of all matter, vibrating out from the center, into infinity (pardon my extremely simpllified explanation.) A yantra is a visual depiction of a mantra. The Sri Yantra is how the mantra "om" would look if you could see its vibration.

Gazing at a mandala integrates the right and left brain for an increased sense of calm focus.
