A painting of a typical hazy summer's day landscape of the Grand River which flows through our town. As kids we grew up here, from hunting and fishing to swimming and camping, it kept us away from hanging out at street corners and instilled a respect for nature that has now come full circle. I have never seen a Bald Eagle in the wild but recently a family set up a nest in the tall trees a short distance from here, imagine after more that a 100 year absence of these majestic creatures to now see them soaring the sky over this river once again is breathtaking. This view is looking west from just above Wilke's Dam to Brant Park once known as Riley's Flats for the farm family who owned the land.
