Artist's Description
Light showers the ridges and valleys of the Plott Balsam Mountains (part of the Blue Ridge Southern Appalachian chain) as seen from an overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina. The way that the sun caught and highlighted the ridge at mid-frame really caught my eye and I used a medium tele to reach out and somewhat isolate the area for emphasis.

Mountains to the Sea Photo
It's milepost 433 the Cowee overlook look towards Franklin, where the Cowee range is located! The Smokies are many miles away! Just bring it up because magazines like & photographers often mislabel photos?

Not to be a know it all but I have been shooting at the cower overlook for 15 years and this view is on the great balsam mountains on the far distance are the cowee mountain range towering over Franklin nc the plot balsams are nearby with water rock knob point your camera to the far right of this view and you can see water rock knob and the plot balsams. It is definitely not a view of the smoky mountains check out the Delores topo map A nps ranger schoolede on the geography of this viewpoint years ago it can be confusing check out delorme
