This digital photograph of a Greater One-Horned Asian Rhino (Rhinoceros unicornis) was taken at The Wilds, Cumberland, Ohio. It is also known as the Indian Rhino. The range for this endangered animal is Bhutan, India and Nepal. In Asia, it is second in size to the Indian elephant and the fifth largest land animal overall. It is a herbivore with a prehensile lip to grasp plants.
For years, I have been an amateur photographer. I have traveled widely to over 40 countries on six continents plus many of the world's islands . My camera, a Canon SLR EOS, has been a constant companion. To me, the most intriguing aspects of photography are composition and color.
Now that I am a retired professor of nursing, I have more time to hone my photographic skills and move into professional photographt. Subjects of interest include animals, birds, butterflies and flowers as well as photos of people (especially children and families), places, and the sun and moon. However, I am an eclectic photographer, drawn to a wide variety of subjects.
