This is Grizzer from the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota. He has recently been put in the retirement area of the IWC. His only fault was that he was a passive alpha male and let a younger wolf challenge him and get away with it. Grizzer was hurt quite bad so he was separated from the two younger wolves for his own safety. His sibling, Maya, was hurt so badly that she had to be euthanized. Grizzer and Maya were wonderful wolves to watch.

I am a retired school teacher and have more time to devote to photography. My wife and I live in northern Minnesota. We try and visit Yellowstone National Park twice a year. My current project (my wife says obsession!) has been spending the last six years photographing small birds in flight. The most frustrating thing I have attempted but the most rewarding.
Thanks for looking.
