The WOW factor is uppermost when you enter the interior of the Hagia Sophia. Hagia Sophia is a former Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later a mosque, and now a museum in Istanbul, Turkey. From the date of its dedication in 360 until 1453, it served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral and seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Hagia Sophia is one of the greatest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Its interior is decorated with mosaics and marble pillars and coverings of great artistic value. The temple itself was so richly and artistically decorated that Justinian proclaimed, "Solomon, I have outdone thee!"....
I seem to be happiest when I am traveling someplace new, to see and experience new things. Ansel Adams said “In my mind’s eye, I visualize how a particular…sight and feeling will appear on a print”. That is what I strive for in sharing these new experiences with photography.
