Lovely card
Hallstatt is a small town on the side of a mountain next to a lake deep in the heart of the Salzkammergut region of Austria. I first went there in 1987 and fell in love with it. This is one of the best places in Europe to visit. There is a salt mine above the town (Salz means salt) and a cable car nearby that takes you to some ice caves. There is a small cemetery in town where if you want to be buried there you have to agree that your bones can be dug up after 10 years and put in the ossuary to make room for others.
To get up to the salt mine above Hallstatt you have to take a funicular. This photo was taken on a beautiful fall day. The funicular can be seen right at the top of the rails.
I have a passion for photography and travel and my photographs are a merging of these two. You can find here photos from the USA as well as many different places around the world. I love to find what makes a place truly unique and capture it. I certainly hope you enjoy my photos! All items are copyrighted by David Jon Waldo. All Rights Reserved.
