Not Because Its Fresh, It Fits; Not Because Its Modern, It Matches
Some clowns with inadequate aesthetic sensibilities masquerade as designers. They make cultural areas look ridiculous by incorporating modern designs in places where the more appropriate design concepts to use are antique or ancient to capture the historic ambiance of certain important tourist locations. My inspiration for this piece are the downright awful lamp posts that were built along the bay walk of Manila de Bay. It is modern but it doesn\'t match the place. It would have been better if they kept its old Spanish style look. Where I live, we have the Kwek Kwek Tower - also a ridiculous design concept placed in a park designed in the early 1900s. Generally speaking, there are many people who fake it in a profession where artistic talents and skill are essential. Art can be learned, but you have to put in the right amount of work to be good at it.

I paint visual narratives. I try to create stories with themes that range from the blissful to the brooding. Typically, my compositions are laden with common and personal symbolism. My works seem to have disconnected elements but they are in fact linked in the way that I see them. To the audience, however, they are like puzzles; open to varied personal interpretations. I don’t like to confine myself in a box. Some days I paint social commentaries. Other days I just paint my personal observations of issues that pertain to almost anything under the sun - this can be political, social, environmental, religious, cultural, and even agricultural.
