This is annother sketch I did while I was in Ireq. We would get a flag, run it up the flag pole and render it honors. We would imediately lower it and record the date and time. These flags would be given to people at ceremonies as a small added honor to the occasion.
About Ronald Welch
My name is Ron Welch, and I was born and raised in Kansas. I'm a father of two and grandfather of seven. I retired from the Navy after 20 years and have recently made my home in Georgia. Essentially, I am a self-taught artist. Sketching is something I started thirty years ago whenever I was stationed away from the family. Most of my subject matter has been figure studies, New York Renaissance Faire and scenes from my time in Iraq and Kuwait as well as a few sketches from the Revolutionary War.
