This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

I am very pleased with the quality of the product, and the gift recipient loved it and brought them to tears as it was a sentimental gift.

Artist's Description
Humanity Fish swims through a vast ocean of awareness and unconsciousness. A teeming composite of images, the central Fish includes many facets of being human. Oil paint changes and molds the collage together across the canvas.

The mix of collage and oil paint is a way for me to assemble an idea out of disparate parts, partly expressed through its process. Collage is a process of collision and re-creation. This seems like a particularly thoughtful piece. If you ever consider selling, please let me know. Meanwhile, carry on!
Emily McLaughlin replied:
Thank you! I decided not to post my originals for sale since they are so dear to me, and I don't necessarily expect them to sell at the prices I have calculated via the time involved and the surface area of the canvas. However, if you would like to discuss farther, feel free to email me! Either way, I am so happy that this piece moves you, thank you for posting.
