Materials Used: 140lb. Watercolor paper, polymer medium, acrylics, painted drawing paper, Kraft paper and design papers, Red pastel pencil, fixative, glazing and acrylics with red thread stitches, sealed with a layer of UV satin varnished.

Meaning behind the art: This Weeks� Tack Down Tuesday was inspired by fire. A while back while junking in some of the town south of me I found a bag of Matches. You don�t find matches any more like that. And with the Black Smithing going on in the Husband�s garage Fire has been on my mind. And plus with burning the brush pile and cleaning up the around the homestead. My inspiration has been about fire and working with my on line class and the viewfinder image I�m carrying on the composition to the other side, kind of pushing the design sense of things.

Bio Laura Lein-Svencner was raised in Downers Grove IL not far from her grandfather�s farm and resides now Darien Illinois for the past 30 years. She�s continued with her personal studies in drawing, printmaking, sculpture, papermaking and collage. Seeking inspiration from one artist to another, Laura has pursued her love of paper; this steady pace of exploration has led her to become a member of many local and international collage groups. She also co-founded the Midwest Collage Society which exhibits throughout the Midwest region. Her works has won many awards and most recently the 27th Annual Juried Exhibit with the National Collage Society.
