Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

You get wowed first in the Interior Narthex of the Hagia Sophia before entering the enormous nave! The Interior Narthex of the Hagia Sophia is a long, relatively narrow space outside of the main nave. It has nine vaulted lines with inch-thick marble panels. These panels were affixed to the walls using stucco and iron rods. In some other parts of the building, the iron rods rusted and the marble fell off, so that the walls are painted to replicate the original marble. However, in the Interior Narthex, the marble walls are intact. The ceiling of the Interior Narthex has the original Justinian mosaics that survived the Iconoclast Era (CE 730-840) because they were non-figurative. The mosaics pieces are interspersed with bits of semi-precious stone. The colors of the mosaics change depending on the direction of the light. When the mosaics were first completed, services were conducted after sunset by candlelight and mosaics were designed to be vivid in the flickering candlelight. FEATUR...
