It Must Be Raindrops is an acrylic painting on stretched canvas inspired by the song by Dee Clark (November 7, 1938 December 7, 1990) who was an American soul singer best known for a string of R&B and pop hits in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including the song "Raindrops," which became a million-seller in the United States in 1961. It is a night scene looking from outside a rain covered window into a well lit greenhouse. There is an obvious relationship between the song, the darkness outside, the rain and then the promise of a new beginning with spring flowers starting to bloom in a greenhouse.
Catherine Howard, catherinehowardfineart.com
Catherine Howard Born in Saskatchewan and raised in Kingston, Ontario, I recently moved back to the area after being away for many years. Colour is my obsession, and I am constantly mixing, experimenting, and learning. Working primarily in acrylics, either on board or canvas, my paintings are completed with a palette knife, or brushes, or a combination of both. I find inspiration all around me, in music, in books, or in my beautiful surroundings and complete my paintings either plein air or in my studio. My goal is to tell visual stories, to evoke memories and emotions, for myself and hopefully for the viewer. My work has sold in numerous galleries including the Alton Mill and the Mad and Noisy Gallery and to private collectors here...
