The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

I have always loved the architecture of the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth TX. This is the original building, designed by Louis Kahn in 1966 and opened to the public in 1972. It has since become a mecca of modern architecture. This is the main (west) facade of the building, consisting of three 100-foot bays, each fronted by an open, barrel-vaulted portico. The porticos are designed to express on the exterior the light-filled vaulted spaces that are the defining feature of the interior. I love the simplicity of the exterior, and the feel of the cool concrete and travertine. It takes on an entirely different feel at night, with dramatic lighting. In 1998, the American Institute of Architects gave the museum their prestigious Twenty-five Year Award, which is awarded to no more than one building per year.
