This is my niece climbing into one of the cliff dwellings at Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico. Bandelier is a kind of pocket sized Mesa Verde and much more accessible. The cliffs are largely pumice and riddles with little caves giving them a Swiss cheese look.
Jenny Armitage lives, paints, and draws in Salem Oregon. She's currently riding two horses: impressionist watercolor and surreal ink. Jenny's watercolors are about light and shadow patterns. She's most interested in forest and cityscapes, where the light bounces around creating interesting light patterns. These paintings begin with a pattern of light seen in the real world. Her ink drawings are illustrative of ideas. She has a thought and seeks to translate it to paper. Unlike her watercolors, the image begins with thought, not sight.
