The french Mediterranean landscape of Provence has fragrant flowers blooming, lavender fields and mountain vistas. A joy for travelers to photograph or experience. Lavender or Lanvedula angustifolia as it is also called, come from the Latin word lavare which means to wash. It's fragrance has been used for centuries as perfume and is a key component in many soaps. Places like the town of Grasse in the south of France Alpes Maritimes region are famous for their fragrance industry, when driving through the area one can smell the various compounds that are used to make some of the world's best perfumes. Even now, some years later, every time I smell Lavender it take me back to the perfume factory tour I did in Grasse, France.

"Three Colors and the Truth"
My paintings reflect the world I live in or want to live in. With three primary colors I give you truth in the disguise of an illusion, as the pact between artist and audience is always an unspoken illusion.
Whatever our purpose on this planet or the universe itself is something I cannot fathom or attempt to understand. I therefore focus on what I can relate to and what I see that makes me happy. I hope these efforts will also help for you to enjoy the everyday...
