This image was created in the desert at the infamous Giant Rock. The 7 story rock is known as the largest free standing boulder in the world. Using a hand held light I painted in the words "Let it Be" during a long exposure on the Full Moon in June 2013. The text was not done in post.
Moon Scribe creates custom art pieces using a medium called light painting. Light painting is an artistic, photographic technique that combines long exposures and carefully choreographed motion with light. All images are taken at night using light from the Sun, reflected by the Moon, that illuminates various landscapes serving as beautiful backdrops to the hand painted images. Using hand held lights, text is essentially "painted" into the image during an extended exposure. A long exposure essentially means that the lens is open for an extended period of time.
