Born in 1971, Monday Beam was immersed in the hippy-cholo subculture that epitomized southern California in the 70s. Termed "So Cal", the laid back lifestyle made a lasting impact on him as a young child. A mix of low rider cars, gangster mentality, and the peace and love movement resulted in a unique dichotomy of life philosophies which has carried over into his art. Two seemingly disparate worlds collided in his parents, and Monday was the product of that unlikely union.
