This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!
Artist's Description
This cabin sits beneath a Van Gogh sky and mountains. It is from memories of mine being from Wyoming and Colorado, all the isolated and abandoned log structures from another era I've come across. They hold a place in history from the pages of time and I wonder about their story. A feeling of melancholy settles in on me and I wonder who built it? Were these little log homes once filled with home cooked meals and children's laughter? Were there times of joy, times of sadness. Why did the families leave? Where did they go?
Perhaps one day these lost cabins will find another family to fill it, and bring back its past glory. In the meantime its shelter for critters and I suppose they are a family of sorts. In that sense these lost homes still hold value, and that gives me comfort.
About Sydne Archambault
Sydne Archambault was born and raised in the Great state of Wyoming. She grew up in a home where art held a presence. Her mother Willie Jordan Misner studied under Birger Sandzen at Bethany College in Lindsberg Kansas. Art was her mother's passion and her passion passed to Sydne as a young girl. Twenty years ago Sydne wrote a children's story and decided to illustrate it. She discovered a software program Meta Creations Painter 5 and this began the journey in digital art. Painter had all the artist brushes, water colors, textures one would need without the clean up. As Painter has grown into Corel Painter 15, so has Sydne in her art and her passion to create. "Honestly if the roof fell in I wouldn't notice it when I am painting....
