The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Artist's Description
Louis-Jacques Thenard (1777-1857), French chemist. Thenard, the son of a peasant, made his fortune by discovering Thenard's blue, a pigment that could withstand the heat of a furnace in porcelain production. It consisted of the fusion of cobalt oxide and aluminium oxide. Thenard also discovered hydrogen peroxide in 1818. He spent much time collaborating with his friend Joseph Gay-Lussac on the studies of the alkali metals of sodium and potassium.
