The majority of her work is in color. Colors have an impact that can overpower the basic shape of a single object or scene. Mary Beth sees the sights as a puzzle to discover the angles and shapes then selects a point of view that best captures the subject.
As a teenager she painted with oils on canvas but was dissatisfied that the paintings did not have sharp perfect lines and true colors. So she stopped painting and began writing poetry and short stories about everyday life as her creative outlet.
