Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
PRIVATE COLLECTION. Lucretia, my family ancestor, lived from 1813 to 1874 near Atlanta. When she was fifteen years old, she married David Clark who was 35 years older. Together, they raised four healthy children in an era that spanned the exodus of native indians followed by land lotteries, cotton plantations, slavery, the Civil War, and the beginning of a new South. She outlived her first husband and married a second time. She knew Adora Jordan West (whom I've created on canvas) who married Lucretia and David's grandson, George David Clark. Women like Lucretia and Adora command my respect for all they endured and for raising their children with great care. I created Lucretia from a tiny black and white photo that gave only a faint outline of this woman. Lucretia's ancestors arrived on the shores of America by ship from England and Scotland, beginning in 1623 with the arrival of Thomas Blaylock to Virginia from England.
