Artist's Description
I sometimes use songs as inspirations for paintings. This one came from "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" This is one of my favorite Beatles songs. John Lennon's son Julian had done a drawing depicting a girl named lucy in the sky with diamonds. which is how john got inspired to write the song. There are actually a lot of theories about what the song is about and what it's actually supposed to mean. Many claim it's a song about LSD although John denied this: "It was purely unconscious that it came out to be LSD. Until someone pointed it out, I never even thought of it. I mean, who would ever bother to look at initials of a title? It's not an acid song. The imagery was Alice in the boat."
The woman in this painting is inspired by descriptions of John's mother who had long red hair.
