It's a colorful and neat little town full of shops, restaurants and history. This small sailboat is an exact reproduction of working shad boats used over 100 years ago. The cottage-style Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse is also a recent reproduction of the original one that marked the entrance to the Croatan Sound. Both are fine examples that were once common on North Carolina's rivers and sounds. Besides the beautiful scenery, I also enjoyed another trip back in time when I found ... The Manteo Waterfront.
