Day Williams has spent 44 years working in visual arts. He started in Reno, Nevada at age 13 with a Kodak Instamatic camera. At 16 he won a national award in a Kodak-Scholastic photo competition. He has studied with two photographers who were on staff with the old LIFE magazine. As a staff photographer for VisionQuest in Arizona, Day acquired the Plains Indian name of "Owl with Many Eyes." Day has had several shows and his work has been published extensively. His series on "Downtown Reno" and "Pyramid Lake" are in the Day Williams Collection at the Nevada Historical Society. His other series include: "Highway 50," "Yes," and "River Visions." Day says, "Learn your craft. Experiment. Don't take yourself too seriously."
